The Beach Family
Our family first got into the cattle business in 1968, when Donald and Margy Beach moved from Sand Springs to Bristow. They purchased the first 80 acres and started a stocker operation running calves during the summer. Later they would run into a set of heifers that grew like none of the calves before them. After some research they discovered the heifers were a new breed, known as Limousin. Those heifers would stay, and a few commercial cows were added to the operation. By 1984, D-M Beach Limousin Ranch was an official member of the North American Limousin Breeders Association.
Today the operation and legacy built by Don and Margy, are carried on by the next generations. Mark and Carla Beach, Chad and Katy Herman, and Cody Beach. Our program is built on the growth, high yielding, feed efficiency, and longevity traits that made the limousin breed popular when they came to the United States. We continually breed for easy dispositions, early fertility, and good marbling to make our cattle very profitable in today's market. It is common to find heifers calving at 24 months, while their 15-year-old grandmother is in the same pasture raising calves. We have been very fortunate to have quite a bit of success the last 35 plus years, from the show ring to the sale ring. Having bred or owned 2 different MOE Gold Medal bulls in the last 12 years. The greatest compliment we will ever receive though, is when a beef customer calls to tell us that was the best steak they have ever eaten. Or when a bull buyer calls to brag about how well his calves are doing. We take the job of creating genetics very seriously, but we never lose sight of the real business we are honored to be a part. The people business! From people buying beef to feed their family, to commercial breeders buying bulls so they can turn a profit and pass this way of life along to the next generation, make no mistake about it that this is a people business! We are honored if we can be any part of your success!
